Sushil Kumar and his associates allegedly assaulted 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Rana and two of his friends Sonu and Amit Kumar on the intervening night of May 4 and 5.

Chargesheet has been filed in the Sagar murder case. Sushil Kumar has been made the main accused in the 170-page charge sheet.

Delhi Police came to know during the investigation that a Ukrainian woman could also be the reason behind the murder of Sagar Dhankar. It is being told that this woman from Ukraine is the girlfriend of Sonu Mahal.

Out of 13, nine were arrested while the remaining four who are absconding have been identified. Delhi’s Rohini Court on Saturday had granted the police further 4-day remand of wrestler Sushil Kumar and one other accused in connection with the alleged murder of wrestler Sagar Rana. Delhi Police, which was seeking further 7-day remand of Sushil Kumar had informed the court that Sushil Kumar is the main culprit of the heinous offence and has not been cooperating during the interrogation.

Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar is the prime accused in the murder case of wrestler Sagar Rana.

Kumar was arrested after staying on the run for 18 days after the death of wrestler Rana.  

Sushil Kumar had been on the run, ever since the brawl at Chhatrasal stadium which led to the death of wrestler Sagar Rana.

Additional sessions judge Jagdish Kumar declined to grant relief to Sushil Kumar who has been booked for murder, abduction, and criminal conspiracy.

The goodwill, respect, honour that wrestler Sushil Kumar earned so far in his career is at stake as for the nation he is not just an Olympic medalist but also an absconding criminal.

Sushil Kumar has been on the run since the death of Sagar Rana on May 4. An FIR of murder, abduction, and criminal conspiracy was registered against the decorated wrestler.
