Saifee Hospital News
Eman Ahmed, who underwent a number of weight-loss surgeries in a Mumbai hospital earlier this year, passed away in Abu Dhabi early Monday. She was 37.
While she still has a long way to go, doctors are extremely hopeful that she will make a complete recovery.
The other good news is that Eman is taking currently and for the last two days, half of her meal by herself.
The Egyptian woman once considered the world's heaviest is now being treated by a team of 20 doctors and specialists in Abu Dhabi.
People might not agree but Eman Ahmed left India in a lot of chaos.
The minister yesterday instructed officials to prepare a note in this regard so that it could be issued to all hospitals.
Today, Eman weighs 176kgs (down 324 kgs) and is like any other obese person.
She will now begin a year-long course of physiotherapy at VPS Burjeel hospital in Abu Dhabi, her doctors in Mumbai said.
At 170kg, Eman, once known as the world's heaviest woman, is now lighter by over 350kg following her treatment at the Saifee hospital in Mumbai.
Sources now said that Eman will be shifted to Abu Dhabi-based Burjeel Hospital on Thursday.
However, Saifee Hospital – where Eman is being treated at present – denied receiving any communication from the VPS Healthcare that owns the Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
The couple also sang for the Egyptian woman, once considered to be the ‘world’s heaviest woman’ until she arrived in Mumbai in February for her treatment.
As per reports, Eman's shifting from Mumbai's Saifee hospital to Abu Dhabi's Bhurjeel Hospital has been delayed by a day or two.
Even though he is against her family's decision of shifting Eman to a Dubai hospital, Dr Lakdawala expressed that they will miss Eman, in a post on Twitter.
Eman, believed to be the heaviest woman in the world when she arrived for treatment at Saifee Hospital here in February, is going to be shifted to a hospital at Abu Dhabi.
Amidst the blame game and name-calling, a statement was released by Saifee Hospital on Thursday, announcing that Eman will be shifted to a hospital in Abu Dhabi for further treatment.
The complaint was filed against Egyptian national Shaimaa Selim for obstructing the medical treatment of her sister Eman, who was admitted for weight loss.
As per the reports in mid-day, the Saifee hospital where Eman is being treated called on the cops after her sister Shaimaa tried to feed a few drops of water to the Egyptian woman, despite warning from doctors who said it can prove fatal.
As per reports, the team from Abu Dhabi comprised four doctors and three management officials, who crosschecked Eman's medical reports and held a meeting with bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, who is treating her, and the COO of Saifee Hospital.
12 out of 13 doctors treating world's heaviest woman Eman Ahmed quit – This is what they have to say
The resignation came amid allegations made by Shaimaa Salim, who claimed that doctors were lying about Eman's weight loss and not giving factual updates on her health and recovery.
