In a bid to get special privilege at Bengaluru Central prison, AIADMK general secretary and convict VK Sasikala had reportedly paid Rs 2 crore to jail officials including Karnataka Director General of Prisons (DGP) Satyanarayana Rao and city central jail officials. 

AIADMK MLAs on Sunday elected general secretary VK Sasikala, 59, as their legislature leader, two months after her mentor J Jayalalithaa died.

Sasikala Natrajan may take over as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, according to several media reports. 

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramaniam Swamy led a veiled attack on the leadership of Tamil Nadu's ruling party AIADMK and said it would be awkward if party general secretary VK Sasikala goes on to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. 

The Election Commission has sought the response of AIADMK on a complaint filed by sacked leader Sasikala Pushpa against the election of V K Sasikala as party General Secretary.

VK Sasikala Natrajan, the former aide of J Jayalalithaa, may take over as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, according to several media reports. 

AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala on Friday appointed senior leaders, including some former Ministers and a former Mayor, to key party posts.

VK Sasikala Natarajan, close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, will formally take charge as general secretary of 

AIADMK spokesperson C Ponnaiyan on Wednesday clarified that the party has not received any application for the post of general secretary till now.

AIADMK member and Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Thambi Durai has said that late chief minister Jayalalithaa's confidante Sasikala Natrajan is a well-known person who is fit to lead the party in its future endeavours.
