Following a marked improvement in the COVID-19 situation, many states governments including Delhi, reopened schools and coaching institutions for higher classes. 

"About 50 percent of students eligible to avail COVID-19 vaccination have taken the vaccine. This is expected to increase further by mid-August," said Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui. 

Schools in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, Noida, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur. The authorities have strictly directed the schools to follow all the necessary COVID-19 protocols.

As part of the government's instructions, classes for 10th and 12th standards began in schools across the southern state with limited hours and restricted number of students.

The Education Minister said that classes 9 to 12 should reopen after Diwali with all COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
