The SKM had earlier said that a consensus has been reached over a revised draft proposal of the Centre on their pending demands. The apex body of farmers said that it will meet on Thursday to decide the future course of the movement, even as its leaders demanded a formal communication on government letterhead.
"Farmers' protests will continue until after govt accepts all of our demands... It would be problematic for us if we withdraw our protest, but they don't take back the cases. Govt should announce a timeline for the withdrawal of cases," farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni said in Delhi.
Farmer leaders said that they will meet again at 2 PM on Wednesday to discuss various issues. Kulwant Singh Sandhu, a prominent farmer leader, has claimed that a consensus has been arrived at and "nearly all demands" have been met.
SKM holds meeting today to decide future course of agitation. The meeting will also ponder over pending demands of the protesting farmers.
SKM is likely to take action on the ongoing farmers` agitation today.
The development comes days after the Parliament passed the Farm Laws Repeal Bill.
The crucial meeting will take place at the Singhu border.
"The Mahapanchayat will raise the demands of the farm movement including the legal guarantee for MSP, withdrawal of Electricity Amendment Bill, removal of penal provisions from Air Quality Management Act, repeal of the four labour codes, halving the price of diesel, petrol and cooking gas, and an end to the privatization of national resources," SKM said in a release.
Farmers will continue their protests till the laws are repealed in the Parliament.
Reacting to the farmers' ongoing agitation, Rahul Gandhi tweeted that people do not trust PM's words.
PM Modi had announced to withdraw the three farm laws on November 19.
Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said they will write letters to PM Modi with their demands.
Farmers demands include a statutory guarantee of MSP.
Centre decided to roll back the three farm laws in the coming Parliament session.
