The road was thrown open by GOC 15 Corps Lt General KJS Dhillon in an inaugural function held at zero point Zojila Pass by flagging off a convoy.

Zojila Pass, which gets blocked due to snow in the winter months, is part of the Srinagar-Leh highway.

The region is expected to receive more snowfall during the next 24 hours till Sunday.
