On Monday, the High Court had directed that the bodies will be transported to Gandhi Medical College and will be preserved there till December 13.
The High Court granted conditional permission to Joint Action Committee (JAC) of striking employees to hold a public meeting at Saroornagar in Hyderabad on Wednesday. JAC approached the court after the police denied permission for the same.
The court was informed that the salaries of the employees were hiked by 67 per cent since the formation of Telangana state. They were given 44 per cent fitment in June 2015, which imposed a burden of Rs 900 crore annually. In July 2018, 16 per cent interim relief was provided to the employees at an additional cost of Rs 200 crore.
The High Court suggested to the government to invite the striking employees for talks and also advised the employees to call off the strike and hold talks with the government. The court further asked the government to first appoint a Managing Director for the TSRTC to take the employees into confidence.
The central government on Wednesday issued a notification for the constitution of a new High Court for Andhra Pradesh. As per the notification, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh will start functioning from Amaravati from January 1, 2019.
