On Saturday night, there was a fierce clash between the police and the public in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. During the violent demonstration, people pelted stones at the police. Along with this, petrol bombs were also thrown. Demonstrations erupted due to the death of a 24-year-old youth in police chase. The demonstration took place during the funeral of the young man. The demonstration is being done against President Kais Saied.

The accident took place when the bus was travelling from the capital Tunis to the Ain Snoussi region, Tunisian interior ministry said.

At least 48 migrants were killed when their boat sank off Tunisia`s coast and 67 others were rescued by the coast guard, officials said on Sunday, one of the worst migrant boat accidents in recent years.

Tunisia arrested the nephew of the suspected Berlin truck attacker and two other jihadist suspects who are "connected" to the assailant Anis Amri, the interior ministry said on Saturday. 

A statement said that the three suspects were members of a "terrorist cell... connected to the terrorist Anis Amri who carried out the terrorist attack in Berlin".

A bomb exploded on a bus transporting Tunisia's presidential guard in central Tunis on Tuesday killed at least 14 people and wounding 11, the Interior Ministry said.
