After five months of rough ride due to demonetisation and ban of BS-III models, two-wheeler segment is on a recovery path and expects the sector to grow by 8-10 percent in FY18, according to ratings agency ICRA.
The two-wheeler industry, which has been vrooming with high double-digit growth till October, is likely to shrug off the note ban shocks and close the outgoing financial year with a 7-8 per cent growth, according to a report.
Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday reported a 3.28 percent increase in total sales at 3,67,226 units in May.
Domestic sales also surged 41.23 percent to 34,615 units last month from 24,509 units in May 2014, the company's parent Eicher Motors said in a filing to the BSE.
The company had sold 27,023 units in the same period of previous year.
The Indian two-wheeler industry stood at over 50 lakh units in the April-July period of this fiscal.
