The Manipur government is not considering any reversal of the decision, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said on Sunday in reply to the United Naga Council's demand for rollback of the creation of the seven new districts in the state.

In a significant development for the residents here, indefinite economic blockade imposed by United Naga Council in Manipur five months ago is all set to be lifted from Sunday midnight.

Another round of tripartite talks involving the State Government, the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Central Government will be held on Sunday at Senapati Deputy Commissioner office here.

With Manipur going to polls on March 4 and 8, political parties have a host of issues to contend with.

The United Naga Council (UNC) on Wednesday said that they will continue with the economic blockade despite the announcement of Manipur assembly elections by the Election Commission.

Eleven suspected supporters of United Naga Council were injured when they tried to storm the Deputy Commissioner's office in Senapati district to protest creation of seven new districts, police said today.

The UNC had imposed the indefinite blockade on November 1 in protest against the government`s plan to create two new districts. 

Mobile data services had been snapped since December 17 last.
