The Supreme Court Friday dismissed social activist  Swami Agnivesh's plea seeking minimum wages for around 50 crore workers in the unorganised sector.

Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that right from the struggle for Independence led by Mahatma Gandhi, the Congress had always fought for the rights of unorganised workers.

Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said there are around 43 percent of the total employees in the country are in the unorganised sector and 4.7 crore of them were in the construction sector.
