Just a month ahead of US President Donald Trump exiting office, his daughter Ivanka Trump has made a comment on India.
Ivanka is also a senior advisor to the president.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit India next week for the 2+2 dialogue between the two countries to be held on October 26-27 in New Delhi.
The dialogue will take place between the defence and foreign ministers of the nations.
Seeking to build close ties amid an ongoing conflict with China, India and the US are expected to sign the BECA for geospatial cooperation during the dialogue.
The United States will always be "faithful friends" to the people of India, the White House said on Wednesday.
It reiterated that America is eager to strengthen ties between the two countries.
"We congratulate our friends in India who recently celebrated their Independence Day," the National Security Council of the White House said in a tweet.

Asked, if the deal is stuck, the source said, "Not correct to say India-US trade deal is stuck. It is an ongoing process. The ministers from both sides have agreed to talk and look at a larger free trade agreement."
