Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Sawant is all set to become the next Chief Minister of Goa. Besides a full-fledged Chief Minister, the ruling party could appoint Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai and MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar as the Deputy Chief Ministers of the coastal state, sources told Zee News.

Goa Forward Party chief and Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai was speaking on a motion in the state Assembly to congratulate Parrikar for construction of Atal Setu, a third bridge on the river Mandovi.

Parrikar, 62, has been recuperating at his residence here since he was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on October 14.

State party chief Vinay Tendulkar says Manohar Parrikar is recovering well.

Manohar Parrikar said the minister was referring to an incident of a tourist urinating from a bus window, the video of which had gone viral on the social media.

Calling Goa a state "superior" to the rest of India, Vijai Sardesai said it is difficult to control "irresponsible tourists" who have been coming from other states. 

The Karnataka-origin Lamani community is into fish retail business and also in other coastal trades like selling tourist items etc, on the beach side.

Vijai Sardesai is the leader of Goa Forward Party, which is one of the alliance partners in the BJP-led state government.

The state agriculture minister said strong action will be taken against those who try to create communal disharmony in the state with their talks.
