According to ISRO, GSAT-11 will play a vital role in providing broadband services across the country. It will also provide a platform to demonstrate new generation applications.

The Indian space agency has recalled its communication satellite GSAT-11 from Arianespace`s rocket port in Kourou in French Guiana, said Arianespace. "Due to additional technical checks with the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) GSAT-11 satellite, to be conducted from the ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) located in Bengaluru, the Ariane 5 launch initially planned for May 25, VA243, has been postponed," Arianespace said on Wednesday.

SGDC will provide strategic communications for the Brazilian government and military, and beam broadband services across the country, helping to provide internet access to remote and underserved communities.

The rocket is now expected to liftoff between 2 a.m. and 3.15 a.m. from Kourou (French Guiana) on Thursday October 6.

 Arianespace said Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has selected it to launch GSAT-17 and GSAT-18 telecommunication satellites on Ariane 5 rockets from French Guiana in 2016 and 2017.

The Indian satellite GSAT-15 is designed to deliver telecommunications services, along with dedicated navigation-aid and emergency services.

Arianespace got the nod to go ahead with the November 10 launch of Indian communication satellite GSAT-15 and Arabsat-6B, the agency said.

GSAT-15 is the 18th satellite built by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and 19th payload launched by Arianespace.

The Indian satellite was transferred to the launcher final assembly building where it will be readied for installation atop Ariane 5.
