According to Bihar Water Resources Department, the water level of Ganga river is 109 cm below the danger mark in Gandhighat (Patna), but its water level is likely to increase on Sunday. The water level of Ghaghra river in Darauli of Siwan district is also likely to increase on Sunday.
The situation has worsened due to floods and rains across the country including Uttarakhand-Himachal, while in many places the bridges have been washed away and in some places the roads are filled with water. Normal life has been thrown out of gear due to the incessant rains.

Darbhanga, by far the worst-affected district which accounts for 20 lakh people hit by the floods, reported its 11th casualty this season.
Earlier, six deaths were reported from Muzaffarpur, four from West Champaran and two each from Saran and Siwan.
Other districts affected by the floods are Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Gopalganj, East Champaran, Khagaria, Samastipur, Madhubani, Madhepura and Saharsa.
The total number of flood-affected people in the state has risen to 74 lakh, while deaths caused due to the deluge stood at 23, it said.
The number of people affected by the deluge has gone up by 4.62 lakh since Saturday, though that of the district remained at 14, the department said in a bulletin.
