A total of 24.42 lakh people have been hit by floods in 765 panchayats of 93 blocks of 11 districts. Darbhanga being the worst-hit, where 8.87 lakh people have been displaced in its 14 blocks.

Darbhanga also has the largest number of people hit by the floods, which has affected 3.46 lakh population. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is deployed at several flood-affected areas. Nearly, 93.89 lakh people have been evacuated so far, out of which more than 12,000 have taken shelter at 22 relief camps.

According to reports, the accused has also announced a bounty of Rs 2 lakh to kill the Darbhanga District Magistrate.
