MSI said total passenger vehicle production stood at 77,782 units last month, as against 1,61,668 units in September 2020.
Production of mini cars comprising Alto and S-Presso models stood at 17,163 units last month as against 30,492 units a year ago.
Manufacturing of compact cars, comprising WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno and Dzire, declined to 29,272 units from 90,924 units earlier, MSI said.
The price change for Swift and all CNG variants is owing to an increase in various input costs, Maruti Suzuki India said.
Before the price hike, Swift was available at a price range of Rs 5.73 lakh to Rs 8.27 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) across variants.
Maruti Suzuki sells CNG variants across its range of models, including Alto, Celerio, S-Presso, WagonR, Eeco and Ertiga with prices ranging from Rs 4.43 lakh to Rs 9.36 lakh.
Maruti further revealed that the main objective of this online finance option is to allow for convenience while offering a wide variety of options to meet the specific needs of buyers.
Now a customer can take help from Maruti Suzuki Smart Finance in choosing a finance partner, select the best-suited loan product, complete finance-related formalities and get disbursal of loan amount via online modes.
In addition to that, the customers can also easily get the estimate of the vehicles they are planning to buy and can choose co-applicant financing if required.
The company further added that the price rise has been planned in the second quarter of this fiscal and the increase shall vary for different models.
It had earlier raised prices for different car models in April. Several vehicle makers have raised prices amid the pandemic as input costs have increased.
The company had last month said it was advancing the annual plant maintenance shutdown to May 1-May 9, which was originally scheduled for June.
It, however, said some activities will continue in the plants located at Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana.
Suzuki Motor Gujarat has also taken a similar decision, the filing added.
The price increase will vary for different models.
