On the second day of the Bihar Legislative Assembly monsoon session, opposition parties staged strong protests wearing black clothes against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.
Opposition MPs, including members from the Congress, DMK, JMM, and the Left, stood at the Makar Dwar steps, holding tricolour cards and red roses. Placards with slogans like "Don’t let the country be sold" were also visible.
The nationwide protest by the INDIA alliance comes in response to the suspension of 145 MPs during the current winter session of Parliament.
Opposition is holding a big meeting on Hindenburg's report regarding continuous stock fall in Adani. Leaders of 16 opposition parties will be present in this meeting. During this meeting, the opposition will make a strategy to present its point. Apart from this, the leaders of the opposition parties will also sit on dharna in front of the Gandhi idol.

In a show of solidarity and political strength, the Opposition parties have come together to create a duty roster for the protest with every party taking responsibility for making arrangements, including food, for those sitting on the dharna.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Road Transport, and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.
“Today, we had to come out here to speak to you (media) as we (Opposition) are not allowed to speak in the Parliament. This is murder of democracy,” said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"People from outside were brought into Parliament who wore marshal clothes and attacked women MPs. This is murder of democracy every day,” Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut added.

"The BJP government in the state has only changed chief ministers which has led to a rise in unemployment, corruption, scams, and inflation," said Devender Yadav.
“The kind of environment prevailing in Uttarakhand, we are sure that every person, be it, women, youth or senior citizens feel stricken. We want to remove the chief minister," he said.
As a united Opposition continues to put pressure on the BJP-led NDA government to withdraw its decision to ban high-value old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ongoing debate on the demonetisation in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
The Supreme Court will on Wednesday hear a plea of the Centre seeking transfer of all demonetisation cases to either one high court or the apex court.
Thirteen opposition parties, barring the Left and the Aam Aadmi Party, protested at Parliament`s Gandhi Statue demanding answers on demonetisation.
