White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed the US president remains “positive” about progress in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin made the remarks while speaking at the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in response to a media query on Russian-made cars.

The UK government has also announced a ban on imports of Russian-origin copper, aluminium and nickel. 

The United States apparently plans to blacklist about 70 companies and organizations for selling restricted US products to Russia.

Russia has sent India a list of more than 500 products for potential delivery, including parts for cars, aircraft, and trains, four sources familiar with the matter said, as sanctions squeeze Russia`s ability to keep vital industries running.

A total of 29 US citizens are included in Russia`s "stop list" in response to the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the US` Joe Biden Administration, the Russian Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.

The United States authorities have notified Beijing of the ‘consequences’ if the PRC tries to help Russia. The adviser to the President of the United States stressed that "this will entail consequences for the PRC." Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Western countries are putting pressure on China.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia had been, is and would be a reliable energy supplier and pointed out that energy flows continued. "But you see the bacchanalia, the hostile bacchanalia, which the West has sown - and that, of course, makes the situation very difficult and forces us to think seriously," Peskov said.

Although Russia does not account for a significant revenue share for Apple products, the tech giant`s exit will likely leave a mark on its smartphone sales that have been growing in the country. Data presented by Burga indicates that based on vendor, Apple accounts for 15 percent of the Russian smartphone sales to rank third overall. Apple`s revenue loss might be higher considering that Russia`s general smartphone sales income has risen steadily in the last few years.

Biden welcomed decision by Visa and Mastercard to suspend operations in Russia. Biden and Zelenskyy discussed Russia and Ukraine's talks to resolve conflict. Zelenskyy asked for continued sanctions on Russia.

Eleven of Trump`s fellow Republicans joined Democrats to vote 57-42 in favor of a motion to proceed to the resolution of disapproval.

Provisions of a recent US law to impose sanctions on Russia have also put India squarely on the path to US sanctions.

The US Senate passed the sanctions package despite European concerns, sending it to President Donald Trump, who must decide whether to accept the tough stance or veto the measure.

Democrats complained that the Trump administration was trying to weaken the penalties.

The new measures, approved by the US Senate on Thursday, include a threat to penalise companies that provide "goods, services, technology, information or support" for the construction of Russian energy export pipelines.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Saturday urged the West not to lift sanctions on Russia for its role in the Ukraine conflict unless the Minsk peace deal is fully implemented.

The European Union formally adopted broad economic sanctions against Russia on Thursday, aiming to make it pay a price over the Ukraine crisis in the hope Moscow will reverse course.
