CPL 2023: Johnson Charles escapes serious injury during a Caribbean Premier League match when Dwayne Bravo was bowling.

Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla-owned cricket franchise Kolkata Knight Riders made a big announcement on Thursday (June 16). From the inaugural season of the women's Caribbean Premier League, Knight Riders' first women's cricket team will be taking part. The local players have been drafted ahead of the historic first running of the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League with the tournament set to get underway on 30 August. Trinbago Knight Riders' women's team has been announced which will be lead by Deandra Dottin. The other two teams will be captained by Hayley Matthews (Barbados Royals), and Stafanie Taylor (Guyana Amazon Warriors).

Kieron Pollard-led Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and opted to field first in the summit showdown of the CPL. Pollard finished with figures of four for 30 for Trinbago Knight Riders as St Lucia Zouks were bundled out for 154 runs. Lendl Simmons (84) not only smashed a quick-fire knock of 89 but also stitched a 138-run stand with Darren Bravo (58) to help his side cross the mark in just 18.1 overs.

Pollard's crucial half-century saw the Trinbago Knight Riders rescue a seemingly impossible two-wicket win against the Barbados Tridents. With the win, Trinbago Knight Riders have shown that they are capable of winning rest of CPL not only without Sunil Narine, they can do it without DJ Bravo. Skipper Kieron Pollard hammered nine maximums in his quick fire knock of 72 off 28 balls.

It was fifth consecutive win for Trinbago Knight Riders in the ongoing edition of the Caribbean Premier League. Khary Pierre finished with brilliant figures of three for 18 for Trinbago Knight Riders as Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 112/7. Darren Bravo (26) and Tim Seifert (39) helped Trinbago Knight Riders chase the target in just 18.2 overs.

Trinbago Knight Riders beat the St Lucia Zouks by six wickets via Duckworth-Lewis Method. During the rain-hit clash, DJ Bravo created history as he became the first bowler to reach 500 T20 wickets. Darren Bravo brought up a milestone of his own off Williams, his 100th CPL maximum.

Tridents won the toss and decided to field first and they started well as the first boundary for Riders came only in the fourth over. The Knight Riders, however, started to score freely after the fourth over and managed to score 45/1 at the end of Powerplay.

Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks on Sunday won their respective games in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Trinbago Knight Riders secured a 19-run win over Barbados Tridents while St Lucia Zouks defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by 10 runs. Colin Munro and Darren Bravo both scored a fifty in Trinbago's victory while Roston Chase was the star-performer in the Zouks win with his brilliant knock of 66-runs.
