Zelensky spoke with Macron ahead of Trump-Putin talks, focusing on Ukraine's ceasefire, peace, and security guarantees.

The officials discussed the confidence-building measures, with no further details, ahead of the Ukrainian negotiating team's meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jeddah.

The long list of participants in Tuesday's discussions will also include Asian and Oceania nations that will join remotely, the French official said.

The Trump administration on Monday suspended its crucial military aid to Ukraine as the United States sought to pressure Zelenskyy into negotiating an end to the war. 

This comes days after Trump and Zelensky had a heated exchange in the Oval Office during the latter's visit to the US. Following the showdown, Zelensky abruptly ended the meeting and walked out, all recorded on media camera.

European leaders, including Austrian Chancellor Nehammer and Canadian PM Trudeau, expressed strong support for Ukraine following Zelenskyy's clash with Trump.
